Hello! Welcome to my world. A writing world that has evolved
during the past 4 decades. It began with my photography hobby
turning into a small free-lance business. I sold to newspapers
and magazines which shared my enthusiasm for the grand outdoors.
That, of course included stories about our outdoor travel and
camping experiences, as well as “how to” articles.

My writing career began in Onaway, Presque Isle County, Michigan,
when my two sons were babies. Being isolated in the deep
northern winter made me wonder if what I wrote in my diary would
interest others. Telling no one, not even my husband, I
submitted a snow scene picture along with a story of our
semi – wilderness  life to the Lansing State Journal. The editors
accepted, and I was, suddenly, a weekly columnist.

A few years later we had a baby girl. I took time off from my
“day job” as an educator and thought about researching an
historical fiction book. It grew to be “Frontier Doctor.” Five
books later came “Bold Women” a collection of  authentic, non
fiction biographies of Michigan heroines.

Presently my life is a dream realized. The children are grown
but staying close. I work in a newly renovated study that looks
out to meadows, woods, and a trail to the Looking Glass River.
With the latest book goes my utmost efforts to bring unrecognized
heroines and heroes forward, particularly in Michigan history, to
be honored for their contributions.
